From the 2008 Central Park Classic - NYC
Scott,
We had a great time and are looking forward to Palm Beach and next summer again in Central Park.. Everyone is looking forward to getting the framed photos. What an awesome backdrop to the photo. The grand slam was hit by Dan Trudell. His wife Leah and Daughter Cristy attended the Central Park tournament with him. It was the first visit to New York ever for the whole Trudell family. The Trudell’s live in Frazier Park, California which is part of Los Angeles. Dan will now be a regular as will our whole group at your Palm Beach and Central Park tournaments.
FYI- We are not always the Giants, we also have full unis from the Twins, Tigers, and Red Sox. So you will see the same guys as different teams at your tournaments. Everyone on the team thought you ran a terrific tournament.
Great Job!! We all had a great time!!
All my best,
Marc
P.S. Thanx again for punching me out on that 3-2 pitch over my head. My 8 year old loved it!
From the 2008 Palm Beach Classic
Scotty,
I haven't had the chance to tell you that PB was a great experience for our
group of guys. 3 of us had not played ball together since little league and
haven't played on the same field together until PB. We had a blast!
Doug
Blevins has not been on a diamond since high school and is pleased to know
he can now play competive baseball for years to come. I appreciate what
you've done in a short time with your business. I also appreciate how
you've allowed guys to create friendships through baseball in every corner
of the country.
Keep up the great work!
Bill Isaly
Scott,
Thank you very much for a great tournament. As a friend, I'm very proud of what you are doing here. And I'm proud to be your friend and happy our friendship has grown over the years. As always, mi casa, su casa.
Professionally speaking, you and your staff have produced the Mercedes Benz of this type tournament. The competition was very good, the option to play full rules tells me you're listening to the customers/players and you LOOK like you want to have the best product on the market.
Thank you for giving me a chance to play in your tournament by bringing a full team. I truly appreciate it very much as I would have missed the best tournament yet.
Continued good luck and success my friend.
Rick
Hey Greenie,
Just wanted to tell you what a great time I had at the tournament. This was the 1st time I played in any organized Baseball Tournament since I was in Little Leaugue. It was a thrill to play & meet so many great people. I thought you did a fantastic job organizing & making sure everything was done on time. I am hoping to come up to the Tournament at The Hall Of fame in September. I am also trying to get a few more friends to join me. Is there any problem keeping us on the same team if we all sign up? Also, where would we fly into from Jacksonville? Keep up the good work & keep in touch.....
Thanks Paul Metlin
Hi Scott,
Catching up on consulting work and securing a few sponsors for our Guinness record game next month. I thought I would drop you a line to say congratulations on a great job in the Palm Beach Event!
You could "feel" the positive environment all around. I heard a lot of "good stuff" during the four days. There is no doubt that you have "forward momentum" going with PATP. I was talking about that with a few "old-timers" and they agree. I can see you still doing this and being very successful at it.
Bill and I are putting a team in for "C-Town" and I believe I recruited 4 or 5 guys already including Pete Barylski.
A few notes--
The jerseys are a "badge of honor", I think 10 guys asked me how I got one. Great marketing tool!!!
Now how about a 5,10,15,20 event patch to put on it! This kind of thing brings guys back [as you know] Everyone in the world screams for attention.
Congrats to the Reds. They certainly want to win.
See you Sunday.
Ray
I just got back from the Palm Beach Classic, I am hooked. I had a great time, met some new friends and enjoyed some lots of baseball. I did pitch a complete game on Friday and arm feels good. You did a great job putting this together. Thank you for the invitation and your hard work. I am looking forward to participating in future events (Possibly New Orleans). Take care.
Scott:
Thanks for your note. Unfortunately, I won't be making W. Palm this year due to a torn rotator cuff and labrum. I probably will have the surgery soon and will definitely aim to make the tourney next year.
I just want to let you know that playing in PATP the last 3 years has been the highlight of my baseball seasons. I know you'll have a great turnout and tournament this year. Your organization has done great things for Senior baseball.
Thanks Again, and Best Regards,
Paul Mermel

A Special Letter of Thanks
Hi Scott,
This is Matthew Rodriguez from Cleats 4 Kids. I would just like to say thanks to you and all of the great people, for donating all of the hats, gloves, pants, socks, shirts, bags, baseball bats, and most importantly CLEATS!!! That is such a big help because we have not been getting as much bats, gloves, bags and baseballs as they need but your donation changed those shortages. When I came back from the Dominican Republic I saw the mountains of cleats in my garage that you delivered. Wow, you and your baseball buddies really COLLECTED A LOT OF GREAT BASEBALL STUFF. When the kids saw me arriving with all the suitcases, they ran to try on cleats and baseball shirts. I will soon email you the pictures.
The kids play on a field that is a farm and a huge brown calf walked right onto the outfield. These kids really appreciate all your baseball stuff. One baseball costs about 10 American dollars, that could be dinner for most of the families. Your baseballs will mean a lot to the kids that don't even own their own baseball to practice with. I can't believe how hard you and your friends worked on getting all of the cleats and other equipment.
So thank you again for donating all of those cleats and the ball that you signed for me along with the hat. I put the ball in my glass baseball case in the middile of my Barry Bonds aoutograph ball and my Juan Marichall ball. Thanks to all who donated, the kids are going to love this equipment. I will write to you when my dad and I take our next trip to the Dominican Republic to deliver Cleats 4 Kids!
From, Matthew Rodriguez

Scott,
I can not thank you enough for making it possible to return to baseball with the nicest bunch of guys one could ever meet. You are doing a wonderful thing and I will be attending many of your camps. I will begin next week to try and get the mailing list for the Columbus Men's baseball league. Additionally my friend Tracy Disabato Aust will be sending your lovely wife Liliaerty an autographed copy of her new book.
Best Wishes and Congratulations,
Jay Lehr
I just want to say again, I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE! And I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of me (Monty), P.K and Kevin! Thanks again Greenie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the 2007 Palm Beach Classic
Thanks for putting on a great tournament.
I'll be at the next one.
Ed Torres
Scott,
I had a great time, won’t be playing in NYC, but I will make any tournaments you host in Palm Beach again, take care.
Peter
Scott,
Thank you for putting it all together. We have enjoyed playing with PATP the last few years and your tournaments have become the highlight of our year as we get older. Hopefully we’ll be able to get into a couple more this year (including right here in NYC).
Best wishes,
Craig
Green Line,
Wow, what a great tournament. The rain put an end to the muscle pain but I still have my baseball smile to enjoy. I think I was 5-13, one of those whent off the foot of the second baseman but I had one of my infielders keeping the book. I never had the chance to settle into a position in the field and guard it properly. (ie, I sucked in the field, I mean I was not Butcher like. 0)
Highlights, double to right in the last game, drove the ball into the alley for a single against one of the camps better pitchers in the stadium, rounded third at full gallop in the same game only to be called out "at the play at the plate", leaped up as high as I could and snaged a line drive in center field . Caught a bullet hit to me at short that would have left a 3 foot hole coming out. Met some very good people too.
Very best regards Scottie, thanks for the book, I got through 65 pages on the plane. I am certain I am going to Cinn's, don't know about a team. We'll have a 14 man Red Sox team for Cooperstown, so please reserve the name for us. All my camp people loved it.

Greenie:
Thanks for a great time, again this year. I had a fun bunch of guys and hopefully they didn't take me too serious and had a great time also. Sorry about the umpire thing....the last game I was looking for a few good at bats because our season starts Sunday. It actually was the only time I got mad all week. We'll talk more soon.
Gregg
Greenie,
Just a quick email to say thanks again for a blast in WPB. The guys you put me with, the Reds, were great to hang out with both on and off the field (even though they handed it to us in Ft. Myers). I will be sure to be back next year. See you soon in London. If you come up before the tourny, give me a call we'll go for dinner.
Thanks, Shane
General Testimonials
just wanted to say thanks,I had a great time and I'm looking forward to next years tournament.
I dropped in to see Kim Parker from the London Majors front office last weekend. She told me about your tournament, and then gave me your cheque for The Trust for Harry Muir. I personally cannot thank you enough for your generosity. The spirit from the baseball community has been amazing, and has added so much positive energy to the entire Muir family. Baseball is Harry's life, and I think when the kind words and thoughts come from the baseball universe it seems to mean that much more.
Great weekend! You guys did a fantastic job! I'll probably need about 111/2 months to recover, but look forward to doing it again. Regardless, I am sure I'll wearing my 'stupid baseball' grin around for awhile after such a great event!
Yes, Scott and company provided great competition in the Final, but so did the other 2 teams - I think we just had an incredible run of luck and good play during the round-robin.
Scott: thanks for doing this for your Northern neighbours - I hope to someday again "Play at the Plate" with you!
I'm sending this e-mail to gauge interest on getting everyone together for tournaments run by Scott Green, who has started a venture called Play at the Plate, which is similar to Legends of Baseball
That is where the similarity ends fellas. Scott's tournaments are run 1st class, with major league quality facilities and fields all in one location, laundry services, lunches provided, etc. There are two tourneys coming up, one in Birmingham, ALA and one in New Orleans, LA. Both are outstanding and I wanted to see if anyone would have an interest in getting a team together to play.
I've been to the Palm Classic and it was a blast. The competition is very good, better than a LOB event.
another good tournament.........you're on a roll here..........good to see you. I won't be able to do cooperstown or ontario, but am planning on new orleans this october, so save a spot.
attached is pretty much what sums up our team...........hey, we had fun, couldn't put it together at all, but had plenty of laughs and good times, nonetheless...........hey, didn't I win last year with you? how'd I get stuck with these bums? just kidding. we had the pitching, but the hitting just wasn't clutch.
a well run time............next time I'm going stag
Scott Green, who is from Long Island, has been running unique baseball events for several years. Last spring I had the opportunity to go to his Palm Beach event. It was at the new and beautiful, Cardinals/ Marlins spring training complex. Several games were played in the stadium. We had full use of the batting cages, batting tunnel and club house. The club house attendant even washed our uniforms every day! Lunch was served in the club house between games. We could watch the 'A' ball Cardinals and Marlins work out everyday. Very interesting seeing the work outs they go through. Two games daily for this Thurs-Sunday, 30+ event. I will be going again again next spring. It is a very well run event! Scott also has events in New Orleans [in a AAA stadium], Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Al. [America's oldest park. Cobb and Ruth played there] as well as an event in Ontario, Canada on Labatt Park. Scott is a very personable guy who really goes all out to insure everyone has a good time. Unlike MSBL, when you go to 'Play at the Plate' or 'Legends', the people running it know who you are. They treat you very well. You really feel at home, and special. Play at the Plate served as an excellent event for the New Orleans Zephyrs and for Jefferson Parish. Play at the Plate recruited numerous local teams to play and brought in several non-Louisiana teams that made for an excellent event for everyone that was involved. Scott was very prompt and professional with everything involved with the event, it is definitely something that the New Orleans Zephyrs endorse. The New Orleans Zephyrs are excited about bringing Scott and Play at the Plate back again this season in October. This event has generated a lot of local interest and is guaranteed to be bigger than the event last year. Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions regarding Scott Green or Play at the Plate.
Sincerely,
Jon Peterson
