Central Park Classic : July 19-22, 2012
Register Here for 2012
We're going back to Central Park for the 6th time this coming July. The tentative dates are July 19 -22. The application has been submitted to the city, and we should get approval soon. We hope to have 6-8 teams from the area along with our national clientele coming to New York to enjoy 4 days in the Greatest City in the World.
From 2011
The games take place on the North Meadow, which is located around 100th Street. You'll find directions to access the fields from both the East and West sides of Manhattan. You'll play at least 5 games with a playoff series.
The team rate is $2,500 for 13 players. $175 for each additional player added to the roster regardless of how much he plays in the event. Single pool players cost is $200 per player. This will be a full rules event.
We will not be getting a team hotel. There are plenty to choose from. Listed below are some links to restaurant's and my friend Paul Jamin a ticket broker who can get you a seat at any Broadway show or the Yankee game that weekend against Tampa Bay. This is a great excuse to come to the big city. Play ball all day, be done by 5, and head out to dinner or a show.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FIELDS
From the west side (the easiest way)
Enter the park at 100th St. and Central Park West. It is a major entrance. You can’t drive in there. You should be able to find a parking spot along CPW a few blocks from the entrance. If not, there are garages in the area. Try the street first. Walk directly into the park and 350 yards in front of you is a baseball diamond. That’s NOT it. Follow the path to the LEFT and walk east 4 minutes. The next 2 Fields are ours. (Again #5 and #6)
From the east side:
Enter the Park at the pedestrian entrance at 97th St. and 5th Avenue. Walk straight in and when you cross a major thoroughfare, you’ll get a glimpse of the fields to your right. Follow the signs to North Meadows Recreation Center. More fields will be in view to your right, keep walking and you’ll hit fields #5 and #6. The walk is about 10 minutes from the East side and parking is a lot harder. So if you are driving in, my suggestion is the West Side. If you are staying at a hotel in Manhattan either way works. Look below for a link to a map of the park. Again if you get lost, it’s Fields 5 and 6 on the North Meadow of (say it with me) Central Park.
For those of you looking for culture and a Broadway ticket or 2, my ticket broker is a great guy named Paul Jamin. His number is 718-945-7244. Many times, he’ll get you in the first 15 rows. Tell him I sent you.
